To date I only have one photo set that isn’t mine. It belongs to Nick Sheer(Also from La Grande Oregon) The photos are mostly from Daytona Beach, Frlorida and the 2005 Daytona 500.
I’m adding some sunrises and sunset of my own to the site. I have 2000 or so photographs from 35mm that I will have to scan and crop and resize. It’s a pain in the ass. I’m glad the Photoshop has that automated function for making galleries.

I’m currently working the overall site layout. I decided to go with a grpahical navigation system. The graphical links will still have alternative text so they will be spiderable. There will be text navigation as well. The overal them will be amber buttons with a white background. I have a rough layout finished this week so you won’t see the “ENTER” on the index page anymore.
I have a logo contest going on until the end of the month. I’ll be offering t-shirts on the main site. I’ll probably just give them away with a shipping a handling fee. Not really free but like $8 delivered not bad for a t-shirt.
I think the logo I’m picking is a scorpion. But if there is a better entry by the close of the contest I will take that one.
I need editors for my web directory. This is going to be the best human edited directory ever.

I’ve been doing landscape work off and on for 12 years. I do some part time work jobs here and there for whoever wants the work done and doesn’t want to do or doesn’t have the time. I like working outdoors. One of my millitary buddies is coming home soon and he is talking about landscaping. I think it’s a good idea. Lots of work and lots of money to be made. I’ll probably move to seaside and start working with him in march.
I’ll be opening a few new photo galleries, A friend of mine gave me some Daytona Beach and Daytona 500 picks. There’s a 140 or so of them. I also have 1200 or so images from around the state of Oregon.
I am a going to offer free webhosting and design services at a shops section of this site for any business that wants to get online. The shops will be an integral part of the site and will be easy to navigate to. I’m offering the service for free for a limited time in order to get more people interested in the website. Future services will include paid hosting and design services. But for now it is free.
I talked to a few people that said they had a website and it didn’t get any business at all. I’m actually going to ad a link from the main site to each individual shop so every shop will recieve spill over traffic from the main site and from other shops at fastamber.com. You’ll get business and all you have to do is check your email.
I think a problem for most small business owners is that they don’t really know much about how to market a website. Sure they have the url on their business cards and maybe on the side of their truck. I have talked to some small business owners and they say they are online but when I google them they don’t even show up in the top 1,000 results. I don’t want to be rude but I having a website is like having a phone number. People won’t just call out of the blue now that you have a telephone. The same thing applies to the internet. You have to market your business. Why not have a shop that is at a well optimized and well marketed site that is highly visited. That’s any bit as good as having your own website. And better if you don’t have the required skills or money to accomplish a your online business goals.
I started my new job yesterday. I am working for a local granite shop. The shop mostly does counter tops and installs. I’m just there for heavy lifting so and then I just watch the boss do his work. It’s like any other job, once you know how to work you can pretty much do any job. Just learn some new skills to add to your knowledge base. It seems like I aready know how to do a fair portion of any job without any training.
If you want to get your site listed in fastamber.com’s directory you will have to edit a catagory. This entails picking a keyword and picking 10 sites that you think match that keyword. The directory is entirely keyword based because people use keywords to find what they are looking for on the internet. You must write a 50 to 250 word description of each site and use the name of the site in the link (no keyword anchor texts) People use keywords to find the page the listings are on. Also you can not post your site in you catagory I will list you as a contributor in the contributor section and your site will be considered for inclusion in the main directory in the section that your site best fits under. If your site sucks and you know it, don’t bother trying to list it here, you are wasting time that could better spent by everyone.
Include a 50 to 250 word description of your site, portfolio, or online business. It shouldn’t read like an advertisement or like a dear sir please pick our business as your —— provider. Just write something honest. Please incluse a logo for your business or website and your some information about yourself.
In short you must review ten other sites to get a site listed.
